Around 20 competitors from six countries were tested on their machine diagnostic, service and repair skills during the finals in Linyi, China.
After six months of intense trials across Asia, SDLG has crowned the three winners of its first competition on machine service skills in the region. The inaugural SDLG Service Skills Competition challenged dealer technicians on machine knowledge, diagnostics and maintenance to boost service technicians’ skills.
“We created the competition as a fun way for dealer technicians to stay up to date on the latest technology so they could deliver reliability in action when serving SDLG customers,” said Liu Xibin, VP of SDLG Import and Export Company. “We want to ensure our dealer technicians are well trained so they can help customers solve challenges as they arise.”
The Service Skill Competition tested technicians in three categories: graders, mini excavators and parts repair. The competition kicked off in July with more than 520 participating in trials at 39 dealerships across six countries which included Russia, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Bangladesh and Vietnam. The top candidates from each country were then invited to the Asia finals in Linyi, China.
Over two-weeks in September, the final 19 competitors received additional training before they faced off in the finals to showcase their diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Competitors in the three categories were required to identify and repair issues on the G9190 grader, E660F mini hydraulic excavator and the WPG engine and Lingong gearbox, respectively.
The final winners were Selezner Alexey from Russia in the grader category, Fajar Febriyanto from Indonesia in the mini excavator category, and Trinh Van Viet from Vietnam in the parts repair category.
