In July 1979, the latest series of domestic engineering machinery products, the ZL40 wheeled loader, was successfully trial-produced.

In October 1984, the first ZL50 wheeled loader was successfully prototyped.

On July 15, 1985, the product trademark Weilai Brand of Shandong Linyi Engineering Machinery Factory was officially registered with the State Trademark Office.

In December 1986, Wang Zhizhong was appointed as the factory director and general secretary of the Party committee of Shandong Linyi Engineering Machinery Factory.
