All SDLG wheel loaders and graders in Indonesia work with diesel containing 30 percent bio-fuel to meet the government mandate requiring more bio-fuel use.

SDLG has ensured that the engines and fuel systems within the wheel loaders and graders available in Indonesia work with diesel containing 30 percent bio-fuel. Since January 2020, Indonesia’s government has increased the required use of biol-fuel to 30 percent and that will increase to 50 percent by the end of 2020.

In late 2018, the Indonesia government introduced the B20 mandate, which requires the use of diesel containing 20 percent of bio-fuel. In January 2020, the government introduced the B30 mandate and is expected to introduce the B50 mandate by the end of 2020.

“The use of higher percentages of bio-fuel will not impact the reliability of SDLG wheel loaders and motor graders,” said Nino Putra, Aftermarket & Customer Solution Director at SDLG Indonesia. “SDLG machines using bio-fuel will continue to deliver the reliability in action that customers have come to expect from us.”

Machines that use 30 percent of bio-fuel will require a thorough inspection program upon introduction that will warrant suitability of the specific bio-fuel grade. Shorter maintenance intervals and more frequent checks may be required if the bio-fuel does not meet certain quality grade standards.

“Biodiesel is more sensitive to bacteria and water contamination than distillate diesel fuel, so more regular maintenance checks may be vital to ensuring maximum uptime,” Putra said.
